Typhoon weather this week!
1.25.2023
Hello Hello!
The weather this week is expected to be windy and cold. Please stay warm before you catch a cold. Coming from the States might be a bit difficult to adjust to the temperature change, and not to mention the humidity.
Changing the subject, recently we had some mold issues in a unit we manage. Mold issues are a very common problem through-out this whole tropical island. Although, it is true that some properties are likely to come across more mold issues than others. One of the reasons is caused by stuctural issues. If the cold air from the ac units do not circulate behind the walls, it will cause condensation which creates water drips behind the wall boards that eventually causes mold to occur. This is exactly what happened to one of our units.
How did we correspond to this issue? Well, after receiving the owner`s approval, we decided to tear down the wall board in the moldy room and replace it with new ones. After removing the wall board, we removed the mold and treated the concrete wall with some mildew inhibitor. Then we installed new wall board and wall paper. To prevent the same thing from happening again, we decided to install three small vents on the lower bottom of the walls so the cold air evenly circulates behind the wall and prevents condensation from happening caused by the temperature difference.
As you can see, sometimes mold issues attributes to the building structure.
If you have any mold growing in your home, make sure to contact your housing agency ASAP because the sooner the better!
GOOD DAY!
